Hey there!
I’m Lena — a photographer and artist based in Vancouver, BC. Originally grown up Moscow, I’ve called Canada home for almost 15 years now.
I studied art, art history, photography (and economics) at UBC, spending a lot of that time in the studio and darkroom. I’ve painted for as long as I can remember, and photography became a natural extension of that.
I work with both film and digital. I spend a lot of time outside with my 35mm camera, photographing strangers, streets, and moments that don’t ask for attention but carry a quiet kind of meaning. Photography, for me, is a way of slowing down and giving space to what usually slips past. It lets both me and whoever or whatever I’m photographing settle into the moment.
I especially love street photography (on film, of course) because it teaches you patience and attention. You move through the world as an incognito observer, watching life unfold and documenting it. Street photography turned out to be the best kind of school for wedding and events photography — where being present and capturing the small moments makes all the difference.

When not on the streets, I shoot portraits, couples, events, and whatever falls outside of that. I’ve had the pleasure to shoot surprise proposals, maternity, baby showers, and more intimate boudoir & NU sessions. Most of my work leans toward softer color, texture, and quiet tone — shaped by film and natural light.
